you asked her how she was, and she answered!. she doesn't sound overly dramatic at all, having an asthma attack can be very frightening and embarassing, esp!. for someone whom you said is shy!. she seems to have accepted what has happened and is working hard to manage her asthma!. her feeling scared and frustrated is normal for someone with a medical problem because she probably fears that it will happen again, and she will end up in the hospital again!.
maybe you have never experienced a hospitilization or a serious medical problem, which may be why you do not understand her plight!. ask her more about what exactly happens during an asthma attack, and maybe she can educate you about it!. this will really help you understand her situation!. hope this helps, :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You asked her how she was and she answered honestly!. Sounds like she is trying to reach out to a friend and she reached out to the wrong one!. Life doesn't always run smoothly and sometimes people need a friend to talk to who wont judge if they are being "overly dramatic"!. I suggest you grow up and I hope your friend finds some more empathetic friends!. I find it really sad that she reached out to you and told you how she feels ("I still get scared and frustrated") and instead of wondering if she's okay and providing some real freindship, you just wonder if she's wallowing in self pity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It sounds like a perfectly normal, honest response to a question you obviously wrote!. If you don't like the answers then don't ask the questions!. Personally I think you are being selfish, uncaring, and overly dramatic!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
