I used to be the same way in junior high , I never brought a lunch to school and i too was quite thin !.But i just grew out of it, I was always so self conscious with the way i looked eating (i don't know why it seems so stupid now) Eventually i began to realize that i just didn't care what people thought!. I mean Everyone needs to eat, do i watch people eating!?, Also as i got older i began to really love food, cooking , trying new recipes and creating my own , growing to love to cook food really helped me come to terms with enjoying food and eating in public or at social gatherings!.!. I don't think this can be dealt with just one answer!. I feel whoever comes to your 'rescue' would need way more info than what you've given us so far!. Whatever your anxiety comes from, it needs to be dealt with, and I appreciate the fact you have acknowledged you 'have' a problem!. That in itself is a very good thing and I first of all want to congratulate myself with you for being so honest with yourself!. I think you should go to your doctor and be as honest as you have been with us!. I don't think your problem is serious, but the sooner it gets solved the better!. And maybe your boyfriend's parents won't that bad ;) Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you spoken with your doctor about this symptom!? Many people who have difficulty eating in social situations can have underlying problems which need to be adressed by a physician!. Sometimes trouble swallowing and nervousness can be the first sign of a serious illness, like thyroid disease!.

Or you could have an anxiety disorder!. Either way your doctor can help you sort it out!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You remind me so much of Elise from Gossip Girl!. She had the same problem, he just eventauly got over it!. She was afriad to eat in front of others because of subconciously thinking she was a pork!. Just kind of think o screw it! and starting eating in front of your bffs, n bf!. And maybe you will just become more comfortable, if you don't maybe you should consult someone because that isn't that normal!. not that its life threatening! Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get nervous eating around people too! It's all in your head!. Nobody's watching or commenting or anything when your eating!. I learned that along time ago!. However,if your dying to eat and you don't that's really bad for your body!. Just eat when your hungry and I'm sure you'll start gaining the normal weight for whatever age you are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!.
You're just a generally nervous person!. Maybe you're self conscious!.
Either way, an eating disorder and serious problem kind of tie in with each other!. o_o
It may be a problem if you're starving yourself due to this problem!.
Eat by yourself and then join your boyfriend/friends!. /shrug!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow yea that's definitely a eating disorder!. see a doctor!. Your problem comes from insecurities, you don't want to eat something if other people aren't eating it, because there think you're fat or something!. Just ignore that though, eat what you want!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think you just have a problem!. well i dont like if people are watching me while im eating but that doesnt mean im not gonna eat!. you just tell them to look the other way!. you can just get over it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think it is an eating disorder!.
I think that you're shy to eat around people, maybe you're not comfortable eating in front of people!.

Sounds like it's not a eating disorder but an anxiety disorder that manifest itself in you being unable to eat!.

I'd talk to someone about it cause it could be serious!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should talk to you parents and family and ask them for their support and i would talk to your doctor and ask some questions!. ill be praying for you!. hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

It seems like a pretty serious problem!.!.!.!.you should check with the doctor!.!.!.its medium sized sign of a form of anorexia!.!.!.you should really check it out

just pretend you dont caree about eating when your infront of them and have a little!. andd as time goes by youll start eating more and moreWww@Answer-Health@Com

Just eat!. Tell your boyfriend and tell him to force you to eat until you get over your problem !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think you have an eating disorder, but you may have an anxiety issue!. Call your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Act all positive and think about stuff!. try to focus on something else and get over the nerves because your Boyfriend wont judge youWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think that you're just very self-conscious!. No Big problem, just self-consious!.
Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes you have a peoblem!. just eat jesus its not hard clear your head and dig inWww@Answer-Health@Com

i have the same problem!. i hate to eat in front of other people because i feel like everyone is watching me!. like what if i do something gross or get something caught in my teeth!. even when i'm starving i refuse to eat in front of others!. i wait until nobody is around to eat!. i've gotten better since though!. you just have to feel more comfortable about it!. it helps to think about it like a deal that you make with yourself!. if everyone else has taken a bite of food then so can you!. if you want, wait until someone or everyone else has started eating before you do so you aren't as self-conscience!. i do this thing where i always have to keep a napkin nearby in case something spills so i don't feel like i'm making a mess or at least it helps to cover my mouth a little when i'm eating!. and if someone really does stare at you for eating then make a joke out of it or just ignore it!. the important thing is to eat when you are hungry!. it's ok if you don't want other people to see you when you are!. i know i do some hiding when i need to eat and there's a bunch of people!.
-hopefully this helps and this doesn't sound like an eating disorder to worry about unless you aren't eating at allWww@Answer-Health@Com

its pretty natural your just wary of judging eyes!. i'm the same i'm underweight but i cant eat due to some medications and side effects, my gag reflex goes wild!.
theres no eating disorder nor any serious problems, just people are self conscious these days, nothing out of the ordinary!. if you feel like someone's got a problem with what you're eating then stare at their food and think about how their food is worse than yours!. if your like eating a burger from mcdonalds and their eating a salad, and you feel nervous, just think how they wont ever remember this the next day!. think back and try to remember what your boyfriend ate three days ago and ask yourself if it changed the way you think about him at all!.
if it does then you have an amazing memory and trust issues
if you dont remember and know as a fact that your feelings for him ahvent changed based on whether he ate a sandwich or a piece of pizza then you're normal!.
good luck, hope you feel better about it and i hope i helped at least lil bitWww@Answer-Health@Com
