Help to quit a bad habit.?!


Question: Help to quit a bad habit!.!?
I pick at the cuticles around me nails!. if it's the slightest bit dry or chapped, I feel the need to pick it, bite it and pull it off!. Sometimes I do it subconsciously!. I was able to stop by putting on acrylics every 2 weeks, but that was too expensive and my work now does not allow for that!. I was also able to stop for about a month by wearing a ponytail holder on my wrist and snapping it every time I felt the urge, but then I lost the ponytail holder and it started again right away!. I work in a healthcare settting and I know it's not safe for me to have open wounds on my fingers from picking at it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Keep cuticle nippers with you at all times!. That way when you feel you need to pick at a rough spot you can clip it and there won't be anything to pick!. Also, keep your cuticles moisturized to avoid cracking and dry skin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem like 2 years ago!.!.!. the secret to break a habit is to NOT THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!

Yes if you think about it then you will do it but if you have something else in mind like what I did "play the guitar" then you should be able to go by with flying colors, try your best to resist it if you are thinking about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Find yourself a new hobby, get with a group of friends and just have fun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you have something that tastes bad put it on your hands every day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Replace the habit with something else!. Try twirling pencils, or twirl your hair! Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do a similar thing except i pick my feet!. I use finger nail clippers to help me pick the skin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
