Answers:
They are not the same thing!. Celexa generic is citaprolam where Lexapro generic is escitraprolam!. Lexapro is the most selective of the SSRI's with generally less side effects then the rest of the SSRI's!.It is however more difficult to get off of!. Lexapro is known as the "new and Improved" Celexa!. has more of a chance of weight gain and is more likely to make a bipolar manic, but the fact is has more dosage options making it easier to withdraw!. In studies it is shown that Lexapro is better tolerated all around!. I gained noticeable weight on Celexa, and my stepmom gained some on Lexapro!. Its a toss up!. If you want an anti depressant that wont make you gain weight, check into Wellbutrin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not a generic form of Lexapro!. Lexapro is the brandname of escitalopram oxalate and Celexa is the brand name of citalopram hydrobromide!. From what I understand there is a small difference in the structure of their molecules!. I am not a chemist though that is just what I have read!. What I do know is that this small difference is enough to make the two drugs work significantly different!. Lexapro is newer and it works on both anxiety and depression!. Celexa is not FDA approved for anxiety, but doctors still use it off label for anxiety!. I don't know how well it works but my sister is not benefiting from it!. I take Lexapro and it has virtually cured my anxiety, but not my depression!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nothing!. Celexa is the generic version of Lexapro, just like how Sertraline is the generic version of Zoloft!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
