I have been on many different meds and as soon as i came off them i went downhill again so went back on them and when i came off them again i went downhill etc!. I now do not think meds cure depression, for some types it is a chemical imbalance but i feel most people who have depression need to find out why they are, what are the negative emotions/thoughts about yourself or life!.
One of the ways to do this is therapy and to talk about your problems etc ask your doctor to refer you, either one to one or group therapy!.
I have been off meds for 6 months and yes at the moment i still have seriously bad days but i am mainly quite motivated and i know that it isn't the meds making me feel like that it is me and all of the work i have been doing! Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

The best advice I ever got concerning mental health and depression is this: eat lots of fresh fruits and vegis and exercise every day (preferably outside)!.

The fruits and vegis help produce serotonin, and the exercise helps produce serotonin and dopamine!. So they both help with depression a lot!. If you can get in the sun during your exercise - say walk for half an hour briskly outside - that will help even more, because low vitamin D levels contribute to depression!.

The second thing I ever did that helped tremendously was to stop eating processed foods - especially carbs like pasta, bread, etc!. If I eat mostly vegis, fruits, meats and dairy my brain works better, my moods are better, and I feel better in general!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to take it very slowly 1/2 a tablet at at a time for a fortnight or so then another 1/2 tablet for a fortnight or so, depending on your original dose the lower you go the harder it gets so as you get down on your doseage you may need to stay on that amount for a month or so before dropping down 1/2 a tablet or even every other day , you may get guidance from your doctor or pharmacist, health visitor mental health advisr but remember it is not a race to come off themWww@Answer-Health@Com

My personal experience is that when I felt better, I thought that I no longer needed them, quit, and later would become depressed again!. I would have to get back on them and wait for them to help again, being miserable for a month or more!. It ain't worth the misery!. It is not a sign of weakness or shame to take the meds, you, like me, have an unresolved chemical imbalance!. Take your meds!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am off of MOST of my antidepresants now, but when I was on a LOT antidepressants, I tried to go off of many, and the same thing happened to me!. It just means your not ready yet, and thats OK!. Just give it time, keep on going to therapy, and maybe next year you can go off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

make sure you do a very, very slow taper!. you should always come off meds under the supervision of a professional!.

coming off meds is hard, physically and psychologically!. make sure you go to therapy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you working with your Dr on this!? Sounds to me that you need the medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
