How do I tell someone I (used to?) self harm..?!

Question: How do I tell someone I (used to!?) self harm!.!.!?
I've stopped now, or I think I have!.!. I'm trying too!.!. but I did it for about a year, and I have a LOT of scars on my thigh and ribs from it!. I keep them all covered pretty easily, and I'm pretty sure no one knows about any of it!.
Now that I'm past it I just want to move on with my life, but I have to be so careful so people don't find out and can't get close to anyone!.!. it's killing me pushing everyone I care about away!.!. but I just don't know how to bring it up and explain it, or how to know who to trust with it!.!.
Any advice from people who have been there before!? please!?

(And before anyone starts, I'm not an emo, and I won't appreciate labels, stereotypes or bs over this!. I know it was stupid and dangerous etc etc, and stopping was the hardest thing I've ever done, so if you're gunna be a jerk stfu)Www@Answer-Health@Com

The old saying goes - "Honesty is the best policy!." Don't bring it up unless someone asks!. And only tell them if you feel you can trust them!.
Don't use your scars as a way of avoiding closeness with other people though!. That's easy to do, and will only serve to put up fences!.
You are already isolating yourself from others by trying to hide your past, esp if you hide it from people you care about!. Your wounds have healed up, but you're still feeling pain!. You are what you are, and you cannot escape it, your past will likely be with you if only because of your scars!. You need to accept yourself (and your scars) and trust people that care about you to accept you (and your scars)!. If they truly love you, they will!.
You just need to be sure that you can trust a person before you volunteer that information!. You'll know who to trust and when to trust them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to realize that they are there; you cannot hide and they'll be gone!. War is he// sometimes and only the strong survive!. You get scarred in all the battles and the enemy is very smart sometimes, but you overcome, ready to battle again!.
But, you really do not have to say where your battle scars came from because they might want to be like you and you could use that to widen your friendship zone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

allow yourself to become close to a person, and try and be relaxed with it!.

I know it would be a very hard thing to bring up, but hopefully you will be able to speak to someone who will be understanding and supportive, just use your best judgment in who you think you could come close to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you will find people accept them, it is your past, any scar becomes a part of someone
