Not everyone can be open with others!. It sounds like you've had people in the past abuse your trust!. It might not sound like the answer you want to hear, but it happens!. All you can do is take each person as you find them and trust your instincts!. If you have some feeling that you shouldn't trust that person, then trust that!. So many of us believe as we get older that we have irrational fears of people, like that first gut feeling that something isn't right!. We're taught to ignore that, but so many times first impressions are key!.

As long as you have ONE person you trust and you're comfortable with, then treasure that and use it as a springboard into opening up to other people!.

PS!. I have the same issues and as of right now, I have one person I share all with!. And I'm ok with that!. Some of us are just more guarded than others!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all: don't feel bad that you have trust issues!. It is not your fault that somewhere in your past you learned that people could not be trusted!. You are not a bad person or less of a person because you are still learning how to trust!.

Also, don't get so upset about it!. You've recognized it and now you can address it calmly, accept it for what it is and learn how to fix it!. It will take alot of time, be patient with yourself!.

Something about trust that alot of people don't realize: it is OKAY not to trust someone right away!. You don't know them, they haven't earned it!. Trust shouldn't even be on the table until that is the case!. Don't let anyone rush you into trusting, it is not a decision that can be made lightly or quickly!. Just keep your distance, be friendly and honest and eventually it will be clearer whether trust can be granted!.

I would encourage you to find someone (a therapist) to talk to about why you have these trust issues!. Once you understand it more fully you will be able to clearly handle it and learn to trust on a level that you are more comfortable with!.

And, it's OKAY to have secrets!. Just because you don't tell someone everything doesn't mean you don't trust them!. It's kinda nice to just have some things all to yourself!. Enjoy it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Small talk is always a good way to start!. I know a girl who has your same problem, and sometimes people think things about her like she's stuck up because she won't talk to anyone else when they really just don't know the truth!. Make people think you are friendly enough to want to talk to them often, and they will become more trusting of you! After they trust you, I believe you'll be able to trust your other friends!.

Maybe invite the rest of your friends over just to hang out for a while, and slowly detach yourself from your very best friend and get to know the rest of your group a little better than your did before!.

Whatever you do though, I wouldn't get into things like drugs and stuff to let down your guard, because there are much healthier ways to do it!.

I hope this helps, hun :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Practice, start out revealing small things that others might not think are important, maybe!. Or perhaps opening up to a complete stranger say like in a chat room or a store might allow you to open up more to people that know you and vice-versa!. Unfortunately the world isn't filled with nice people that do nice things all the time, but pain and suffering do make you mindful and likely more appreciative of the good times and good people you associate with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
