What should I do about my panic attacks?!

Question: What should I do about my panic attacks!?
When I get them I usually talk about commiting suicide and think about it a lot!. ONLY when I'm having one do I talk about how I want to die and everything!. But when I'm not it never crosses my mind!. Should I go see a therapist about it!? My dad told my mom about it (since I told him about how my panic attacks bring on suicidal thoughts) and she said she couldn't afford it, but should I go see one!? and how should I bring it up to her!. I'm really scared that one day I'm going to do something that I really DON'T want to do at all!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Try not to talk about suicide as far as how you would do it!. That's the first step towards actually doing it, so go ahead and hate yourself and freak out, but stop short of talking about or thinking about (even more important) the act!. Create a mental block for yourself, so like everytime you have suicidal thoughts, imagine a button that you press on your knee that wipes your mind clean like it's been zapped and then your whole brain melts like lava (it's good to have a visual reference) and that stops the thought from ever occurring!. Definitely go find your group at YahooGroups!. These are support groups which are FREE! it's therapy for free!. These are groups of kids in your same situation talking about problems theyve had, and many of them have gone through therapy so they can teach you some of the lessons!. Definitely get your own therapist if you can!. Definitely Definitely get a therapist, and if you don't get along with him or her, try a few until you find someone you can talk to!. Also you can call those suicide hotlines, the people on those phones are super super nice and understanding!. But again, try not to think the thoughts!. You will get through this, and when your on the other side, you'll be like "Whew! thank god I lived through that whole crisis" Think about it as growing pains!. Not only does your body get all awkward and imbalanced, but your brain does too!. When you're fully grown, everything settles into place!. So wait it out!. Youre strong, I can tell!. you'll get through it!. And always question yourself, but NEVER doubt the fundamentals!. get me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.
If you're unable to take St John's Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb!.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!

there are classes, fairly inexpensive when you take a group class, that will teach you how to control your emotional responses to the physical causes of anxiety!. I took those classes over twenty years ago, and they have saved my life on more than one occasion!. If mom insists she can't afford it, find out if your local mental health clinic can do a sliding scale payment type thing, and ask your dad to help out with the cost!. You ARE worth it, be persistent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

GET to a professional no matter what it costs!. Panic attacks can be easily corrected and the earlier the better!. Your parents should find the money for it because your mental health is far more important than anything else they could spend money on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
