Question: Wellbutrin (bupropion hydrochloride) can it cause permanent tinnitus (even after cessation)!?
I was on Zyban (same thing) 150mg for seven days, then stepped up to 300mg for two or three days !.!.!. I noticed a ringing in my ears (tinnitus) and read the consumer leaflet again and found it to be a rare, but serious side effect to tell your doctor about or go to hospital immediately!. Perhaps an exaggeration, but I did stop it the next day!. I will be seeing my doctor in less than two weeks; however his opinion may be bias!.

The problem is !.!.!. it's been a couple of days and it hasn't gone away!. An incessant ringing in my ears that varies with intensity!. Not a problem that I've had before which is an important consideration!.

Questions are, how (mechanism of action) does is cause this!? I also recall feeling a popping sensation in my left ear that night, could this be related or a sign of damage!?

Why is it considered such a serious side effect!? (i!.e!., they don't list it as a side effect that you can ignore and only tell your doctor about if it becomes bothersome)

With tinnitus no one would ever predict "permanent"!. No one really knows what causes/cures it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
