What do I do with myself when I feel so hurt?!


Question: What do I do with myself when I feel so hurt!?
My anxiety and depression make for a difficult life!. I don't have a social life!. I try to balance out my life with interests I like, go to therapy, going to work and starting up school!. I know I'm not ugly, some think I'm pretty, I think I'm plain!. I know this is a pity-party for myself!. I'm trying to do something constructive with what happens to me, but I'm not doing good on my own!. I probably need to discuss this with someone in much more depth, but I don't have anyone and the people in my life that do love me just don't know how to be there for me!. Okay what happened is, I put pictures up on a dating site, after finally getting the courage and I tried contacting a few guys and iming a couple!. Nobody would talk to me!. I'd get at least one person trying to talk to me if I ever did go on and now nothing!. I know I have to like myself before others will, it's just that I like how I am!. I just want to get to know people!. I don't know where to put myself out there in real life!. I don't have friends to hang out with at all, minus one but she's very busy!. I need human interaction!. What do I do with myself!? I don't know how much longer I can stand living my life this way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been having a pretty tough time the past couple of months, and I think I know how you feel!.!.!. And of course, it's easier to give advice than to follow it; so everything I'm telling you I also try to do myself!.

1!. Exercise!. When it's really cold, or really fricken hot, or if I'm just feeling sorry for myself, it's hard to get out of the house and run or hike or go mountain biking or even walk my dog - But it's a guaranteed way to feel better!.

2!. Don't isolate yourself from other people!. Join an outdoor club, volunteer at the Humane Society, take a night class at you local community college - Anything that forces you to get out of your own head and engage the world for a while!.

3!. Also, I'm convinced that all the times I really wanted somebody else in my life - I was pushing them away!. And all the times I had lots of friends were times that I was perfectly content to be alone!. I don't know if lonely people put out some kind of "needy" vibe or if it is a sick joke that the universe plays on us, but the more afraid you are of being alone, the more lonely you will be!.

Finally, (I'm only half-kidding here) are you in Roswell, NM!? You have to get out of that place!. I'm originally from Portland, OR, and I also lived in Phoenix and Denver!. I've been stuck in El Paso for a couple of years, and this part of the country is enough to make anyone depressed!

Try taking up a new hobby that kinda forces interaction with other people you can make friends that way!. Sewing, rec sports, volunteer some place!. If your starting up school then join up with a club there!. And more importantly try and be sociable at these events! Don't sit in the corner! Good Luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, look around at the relationships you see that you think are successful!. Do looks seem to have anything to do with it!? A lot of pretty couples are miserable, so don't think you need to be a head-turner to have someone want to be with you!.
You just need to build your confidence and accept your shortcomings!. For example, I just started a Mandarin class!. Everyone is a beginner, but it's most apparent with ME!. I just figure I'm there to make everyone else relieved that they aren't the slowest learner in the class!. haha
You need to think about what you truly enjoy and pursue it!. You'll meet people who share your interest and maybe develop friendships!. If you're too negative about yourself, you'll push people away!. Everyone has faults and I'm sure yours are no worse than anyone else's!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
