What goes on in their minds?!

Question: What goes on in their minds!?
My Grandmother has had mental disorders all of her life!. She had a nervous break down when she was in her late 20's-early 30's and they diagnosed her with schizophrenia!. That was like 48 years ago and she was sent to a mental hospital and had shock treatments and everything!. Now, she is 75 years old and over the years her problems have gotten a lot worse!. For example: she hears voices, thinks that her family talks bad about her and she thinks that the nurse that comes to take care of her while my aunt and uncle are at work is trying to kill her!. She has had 4 different nurses in the past year and she has recently started cursing them out!. She says things I have never heard from her before!. My aunts and uncles have stopped telling her when relatives pass away because she always forgets and when you tell her again she reacts as if it was the first time she heard it!. I feel bad for her and I hate to see her in the shape she is in!. I know when she says stuff that she can't help it!.!.!.but I just wanted to know if anyone could explain to me what goes through peoples minds who have that type of disorder so I can understand what she is going through better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Schizophrenia actually has a gene for it, so it's not something she can control!. It's something that usuallu develops in a person's 20's!. The main character of "A Beautiful Mind" said he believed schizophrenia occured when things don't go right in a person's life!. It has also been found to be genetic!. So maybe it could be a combination of both!? Maybe a person is more sensitive to preceiving things not going well in their life and they develop schizophrenia!. This is a very interesting question, and there are personal accounts of recovered schizophrenics (there are not many) who describe what it was like while they were in a psychotic state of mind!. You can find their documentaries on youtube!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it seems, from all the trama she's been through, has been mentally affected!. She thinks that everyone is out to get her because she's been hurt by many people and that may be called Paranoia!. Also, the reason she forgets so much is because she may have Alzheimer's!.

She just need people, she can trust, with her!. You can only be there for her and hope she'll feel better about others!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
