Are imaginary friends normal during teen years?!

Question: Are imaginary friends normal during teen years!?
Hey, I've been researching this for a while and I've came up with virtually nothing!. I'm in the first few years of my teens and was a pretty normal intelligent kid before this issue arose!. My favorite band who I won't care to mention the name of suddenly started becoming my imaginary friends!. I cannot see them but I hear them during my day to day activities and feel compelled to reply, as if they were actually there!. I've been finding trouble as I have just left school to be home schooled and I am not dealing very well with loneliness!. I have internet people to talk to but I assumed when I left school the people I was friends with there would be there for me and help but they have not and have all but abandoned me for their boyfriends and girlfriends!.

I have five people constantly talking to me in my head and I have told no-one about this!. Should I tell my parents and concern them or is it perfectly normal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No it isn't 'normal'!. It sounds like the changes in your life have you very stressed and your mind is playing games with you as a coping tool!.

Yes- you should tell your parents!.

A doctor will examine you to be certain there isn't a physical reason for your symptoms!.

Do tell your parents , this can be treated before it gets much worse!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it may be a dissociative disorder
everyone is dissociative to some degree and i have it to an extreme!. somewhere between it could be what you are talking about!.
people who have this are very creative!. it is something that can effect how you deal with the world and talking to someone you trust, hopefully your parents, would be a good idea!.
it is a coping skill that kicks in under stress normally!.
take care, good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Its hard to say what is and what isnt normal- we all develop differently!. However, it sounds like you are having trouble with leaving school and loneliness!. These are definitely legitimate feelings, and it would help to have them dealt with and maybe to talk to someone about it!. I suggest seeing a counselor!. That may also help with the loneliness, at the least!. Tell your parents!. I asked to go to counseling when I was in my teens and my parents did not have a problem with it!. I wish you luck and i hope you feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
