Question about opiate tolerance.?!

Question: Question about opiate tolerance!.!?
I have grade IV spondylolisthesis and was prescribed Norco and Soma seven years ago!. I became addicted to these pills and stopped taking them for two years!. Due to a recent car accident I am going to have to start taking these meds again because i cannot tolerate the pain!. My question is will I have to start taking the same amount I was before!? Like I mentioned I was abusing them so I was taking 6 times the amount that I was prescribed!. Can I expect pain relief from taking them like they will be prescribed or should I expect to have to take the same amount that I used to!? Thanks for your help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pain medication is odd!. If there is real pain it tends to take care of the pain and NOT make you high!. If you start getting high off them you know you are past the point of getting rid of the pain and into getting high!. I would tell the doctor that you had an issue is the past so he can watch it!. No you will start out at the normal amount and will obviously increase from there over time!.
Have you tried other ways to deal with the pain trigger point injections!. Or bi feed back!. God Bless ReggieWww@Answer-Health@Com

The normal dose should help at first, although your tolerance may build quickly-- like after a week or so!.

I hope you were honest with your Doc about the addiction- they have many ways to help you with this!.

No Doc will with hold NEEDED pain medications , but they will keep a close eye on the dose you are taking, and make sure you aren't apt to begin abusing again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
