Please help me. I looked up a suicide hotline on the internet saturday.?!

Question: Please help me!. I looked up a suicide hotline on the internet saturday!.!?
I'm a 25 year old man finishing a master's degree in college!. I have my own apartment!. I talked to my mom on the phone Saturday and she lectured me for half an hour about how she is worried about me not finishing my internship or passing my comprehensive exams!. I felt so awful after this conversation that I just wanted to die!. I looked up a toll-free suicide hotline on the internet and thought about calling it!.

The fact that I even thought about calling scared me!. Has anyone ever called!? Does it help!? I think maybe I just wanted to talk to somebody who would listen and be non-judgmental!. Someone that would not make me feel bad about myself!.

I've been on 20mg prozac for close to a year and been going to counseling!. I think it helps but I still get depressed sometimes!. On the weekends all I want to do is sleep most of the time when I'm not working even though I have lots of homework/studying to do!.

I don't know why I feel this way!. I have an appointment to see the doctor in another month!. I don't know whether I need to adjust my meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My perception is that people who go to college to get an advanced degree are usually pretty ambitious!. If that's you, then your meds aren't working well enough, and that is why you are lying around - you still have too severe of depression symptoms to get your work done!. CALL THE DOCTOR for a med adjustment, don't wait, because you have to keep up with your workload! The doc can phone or email the prescription to the pharmacy!. Your mom obviously can see you are still depressed & is really worried about you, even if the way she communicated that just made things worse!. If this goes on and you can't get the meds adjusted soon enough, you may want to consider a short leave of absence!. Does your advisor know you are having depression problems!? Don't necessarily volunteer it, if you never told them, but if he/she already knows, then you may want to let them know that the symptoms are acting up right now & maybe you could push back your comprehensive exam a couple months, to buy time for the meds to work!.

Often suicide hotlines are called crisis lines, and you can call for a crisis that isn't quite to the point of suicide!. So I suggest you call anyhow!. And some areas have mobile crisis teams where one or two people will stop by for an hour or two and sit with you until the crisis is over!. A lot of times the crises come only at certain times, like when you are tired, (or just got off the phone with good old Mom!) and you can handle it the other times!. There might be campus depression support groups, too!.

Inpatient is OK, but you would probably be there a week!. I suggest getting the med adjustment with the doc over the phone, first & only go inpatient if there is no other way!. I will say my advisor was WONDERFUL about me being in the hospital, but I still ended up having to leave graduate school, because I never could find meds to help the bipolar disorder!. If you find good meds, you will do great!!!

All the best to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My friend commit suicide this week and I wish he would've reached out to someone for help!. I didn't see it coming!. It's okay to ask for help!. It's okay to call a hotline, that's what they're there for!. Call your doctor and ask if they can reschedule your appointment so they can see you sooner!. I'm sorry that your mom's stressing you out!. Try not to let her get to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I felt like dying for awhile a month ago when I had enough and people just kept lecturing me!. I thought about calling a hot-line but I just never got to it before my thoughts got to me!. I had a suicide attempt a couple days later and was admitted to a crisis stabilization/psych ward!. I stayed for six days!. Obviously, you have a little more in your life than I do and that you have hope!. You should call that hot-line and do not wait another minute to do so!. Before you know it, you could feel so bad that you want to end it all!.

To tell you the truth, I still feel very suicidal, but I have no plans yet!. I have nothing in my life to really brighten it!. I think YOU do because you're working towards a master's degree and you have a job and I am assuming a decent one since it's in the hospital where the environment is a healing and relaxing mood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think that's weird!. Honestly, I've gone through my own bouts of depression and anxiety!. I've been on several types of medications and have always been more pleased with my life with the meds than without!. I think that those of us that suffer from chemical imbalances need to be aware of how vulnerable we can be to triggers!. It sounds as though your mother and her lecturing you is a trigger for your depression!. Set a healthy boundary with her such as not talking for an hour and giving her the chance to lecture you!. Try to keep the conversation light and positive!.
I, myself find that I easily become very negative if I am around negative people!. I choose to be around positive people now!. I choose to manipulate those triggers that can depress me!.
I hope you get more help though!. And also, sometimes they can add in an anti anxiety to the depression medication to help boost the effect of the antidepressant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
