Is there a differnce between lamictal and lamotrigine?!

Question: Is there a differnce between lamictal and lamotrigine!?
I normally take 25mgs of lamictal and the pill is in the shape of a six sided shield like shape!. When I opened my prescription bag to start my new month of medication I realized it was a different pill bottle and it said lamotrigine 25 mg and the pill is in the shape of a diamond!.

Is there a difference between the two medications, should I be concerned about taking this new pill, is there differnce of potency in them!?

Obviously I'm concern and worried can you please give me any information you can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Lamictal contains the active ingredient Lamotrigine that belongs to anti epileptic substances!. Lamotrigine works by decreasing the excessive electrical activity in people with epilepsy!.
They are different drugs manufacturers, because of that, the same composition drugs, can have different names!. So don't wary and take Lamotrigine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This med went generic recently!. You will appreciate the savings in price as more companies market generics!. Right now, the generic probably isn't that much cheaper!.

SOME people think there is a difference between the brand name drugs & generics!. There isn't supposed to be, and research shows that you can give people two identical products (not necessarily meds), and SAY one was expensive, and people think the expensive one is better, so I suspect that it is people's bias towards brand names that is controlling this response difference between brand name & generic drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lamotrigine is the generic brand of Lamictal!. It's the exact same thing!. I take lamotrigine because it's cheaper!. They basically have to make it a different shape because of it being generic!. If you put it on your tongue it's pretty much the same bitter taste as Lamictal!. (:

No worries!. If they would've changed it they would've told you, but I promise it's the exact same thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, they're the same!. One is the generic (lamotrigine) and one isn't (lamictal)!. There isn't a difference between them though; just price!. :PWww@Answer-Health@Com

Thanks for the 2 points!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you should google on the internet!. I used to take lamictal, and I started out with a pack!. Have you been on it for a short time!? Because I know it takes several weeks to get up to the full prescribed strength, and a different MG in pills, there will also be a difference in appearance!. Sorry I don't remember!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
