Answers:
1) Yes, an LCSW can diagnose you as having a psychotic disorder (with delusions) due to a general medical condition without you performing any testing!. They don't need previous records to make that diagnosis either!. The diagnosis is based on your present or recent state of mind, your behavior, your personal history, your medical history, and your family's medical history among other things!.

2) Yes, an LCSW can committ you if they feel you are a "danger to yourself or others!." Psychologists, psychiatrists, law enforcement officers, general doctors, and social workers can all make this determination!.

It is obviously impossible to determine whether your diagnosis is correct or not, but you may consider assessing your behavior and state of mind rather than questioning the authority of the therapist!. Trust me when I say that LCSWs go through pretty extensive education and training to get to the position in which they make these kinds of decisions!. Of course, that does not mean they are always right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

in many cases, it is very obvious that an individual may be a threat to himself or others, and in that case, they can hospitalize them on that basis, and start immediate treatment!. but it is usually only under these extreme circumstances that it is done!. even police can take a person to the hospital under these circumstances!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
