Question: Sometimes when I get extremely upset and sad I think about!.!.!.!?
!.!.!.hurting myself, is this normal!?
I haven't actually hurt myself before but I keep thinking about it!.
I have counseling on Monday, should I try to keep calm until then or what!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to counseling on Monday just like you planned!.

Until then, get an old spiral notebook or just a legal pad and write down these feelings and what you ate just before the feelings and what you were watching on TV or listening to on the radio or on the internet and who you were talking to and what you were talking about!.

In other words give your counselor something to work with -- maybe they will want to get you a prescription!. Maybe they will just want to tell you how to handle certain situations differently!.

Unfortunately, your feeling are not uncommon and everyone that has them has to learn how to handle them!. Counseling is a great step to learn that!. You can help by writing about your feelings, associations, passtimes, and diet between now and then!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I actually do think that it is normal to THINK about hurting yourself, but actually going through with it is another matter!. I'm glad to hear that you are going to counseling, but until then I would recommend a quick exercise that has always helped me when I get depressed: Make a list of all of the things that you are thankful for!. I mean everything, even things that would seem insignificant to anyone but you!. I know this sounds cheesy, but it actually causes me to realize that my life is not nearly as bad as some other people's!.

I friend of mine had another exercise that helped him remain optimistic and thankful for his life!. He found a picture of a dying child in a third-world country, cut it out, and kept it in his wallet!. As morbid as that may sound, it revived his spirits every time he looked at it because he realized that his life really wasn't bad after all!.

you should really not punish your body because of your emotions!. girls have those alot and its normal!. just believe me you have alot of people caring for you and dont want to see you get hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
