Am I Just Coldhearted Do I Have Some Problem?!

Question: Am I Just Coldhearted Do I Have Some Problem!?
I've never told anyone I love you and meant it; I just say it in response to them if they say it to me (including family members)!. Every once in a while I even worry about receiving a call that a close family member has passed away, but not because I'd miss them but rather because I'd have to show some sadness at their funeral and I don't know how well I'd be able to act it out!. My family members are nice people too, and I do like them but I don't feel "love!." The same applies to friends outside my family too!. I do feel emotional about things, but it's usually just envy, anger, and disappointment!. Is this some sort of mental illness, or am I just some inhumanely coldhearted person!? I can provide more info if needed!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's more likely that that's just how you naturally are!. I don't think you're inhumanly coldhearted, just more distanced than most people are!. (There are also cultural differences in showing affection and emotion, incidentally - all my American friends seem really excitable and over the top to me compared to British friends or many of my friends here in New Zealand!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It definately sounds like some sort of mental illness!. Or maybe you do love people, but love doesn't feel the way you thought it would!. Sounds like it could be depression!. It comes in many forms!. You should talk with a professional and see what they have to say!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

It sound like whats called a reactive detachment issue!. You've probably suffered considerable pain at some point in your life and your lack of emotional reactivity is the result: Kind of a defense mechanism!.

I don't know that there's a cure for this!. But I do know that the bible is the best answer for mental health problems in general!.

The bible does make this promise: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)!."
