Question: I think I might have a compulsive disorder!?
I think I might have some compulsive disorders, my brain tells me to do things like: check the doors open at night, look inside the toilet when your done, etc, it's really starting to creep me out and I can't stop!. Please help!. Oh, and I'm too embarrassed to tell my mother!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may in fact have OCD Obsessive Compulsive Disorder!. What you described are all behaviors that help to decrease your anxiety levels!. When you have obsessive thoughts, or constant thoughts going through your mind, it is very uncomfortable and consuming!. You then feel compelled to do something i!.e!.checking to make sure the doors are locked for the tenth time in a row!. These compulsions then alleviate your symptoms of anxiety for a while -!. you know for sure this time the doors are locked!. People with OCD often engage in very ritualistic behaviors i!.e!. having to check the toilet!. These obsessions can escalate to the extent that a person spends the majority of their time engaging in their rituals in an attempt to just feel "normal" and not anxious!. You do have control over your life and the decisions that you make!. For starters, try to desensitize your own brain!. What really would be the worst thing that could happen if you forgot to lock the door!? I'm a firm believer that if someone wants into your house, they will find a way to do so!. It sounds like OCD!. Don't be ashamed love, I have it too!.!.!.well, not technically anymore since I got treatment for it!. It's a disorder caused by stress and anxiety!. Talk to your mom, it's nothing to be embarassed about!. Your doctor can explain it to you in further detail!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
