Can Generalized Anxiety Disorder be mistaken for ADHD?!

Question: Can Generalized Anxiety Disorder be mistaken for ADHD!?
I've been anxious since I was a child, strange fears and obsessions about something bad happening!. I recently was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult but I still struggle with anxiety!. I was looking at some of the symptoms and restlessness, addictions, fidgeting, and distraction are all symptoms of anxiety disorders also!. Is there anyway to tell which one you should treat or could it just be both disorders!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually you psychiatrist/doctor knows the difference and can diagnosis you properly!. You could have ADHD and anxiety disorder both!. Discuss this with your doctor and tell him you feel you also suffer from anxiety disorder!. He can help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Doctors often tend to give the bad diagnose and medications prescribsions, not that I blame them!. I went through anxiety for more than 4 years, some symptoms in anxiety are very similar to ADHD so but there's surely a huge difference between the two mind disoders!.

I'm sure it could be mistaken for ADHD!.!.!. Sounds like you have more anxiety, rather than ADHD!. You might want to check your diagnoses with your doctor!. Make sure you tell your daughter exactly what your feeling (i!.e!. always anxious, weird obsessions, uncommon fears/paranoia, etc)!. Or go to a psychiatrist to get everything cleared up

I thought my daughter had ADHD until she needed professional help after a severe trauma!. In the end, she has learning disabilities and anxiety disorder which was thought to be ADHD!. After I read "Freeing Your Child from Anxiety" I realized what she was going through and the difference between the two!. A lot of other symptoms she had all came together!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
