Question: I am an emotional eater and I am looking to get some help in this area!. !?
I have had problems with my weight my whole life!. While in high school I lost a bunch of weight and actually was at a really healthy weight!. Something happened somewhere in my senior year and I started gaining it all back!. I have kept gaining for the last five years since then!. I am at my highest weight ever!. I finally this past year started to lose weight and honestly had no idea I had lost any until my family pointed it out to me!. I then realized that I was not eating as much!. (During this time I was living with my father) I am in my last semester of college and I am moving back and forth between my parents houses trying to save money!. When ever I am at my mom's house I eat all the time and I am usually depressed!. I believe this is because she never stops putting me down and is on my weight at least once a day!. The problem is that if I spend more time at my dad's house my mom gets really angry and says that her life is horrible because she is all alone (Her being alone is a whole other story)!. I do not know what to do!. I just wish there was someone who I could talk to that could help me know what to do to make the situation better!. Sounds like your mum relies a lot on you for company and support but she may not give it back to you!. Is your mum really insecure!? Do you tell your dad about your feelings about being around your mum or that she puts you down about your weight!? It might be worth talking to him and asking for his support in maybe speaking to your mum about more positive support!. If she loves you then she would try to do this!. When someone constantly puts another person down its a sign of insecurity!. You may need to reassure your mum that you love her but you find her treatment harsh with regards to your weight!. She may feel that being this way is helping but you need to tell her it isn't at all!.
Is there any other family members that could help you out with your mum and her loneliness!? I know my mum has a real good moan about the family as she has not much support!. But I make her understand that she can really push it with regards to the moaning!. My dad also calls me portly all the time and it makes me miserable but I have told both mum and dad its not fair of them to do this to me!. I need to look after myself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i was pregnant i felt ugly so i ran to food for my comfort!.!.!.i then put myself on a diet i made it a game i wrote what i ate then the next day i would take the carbs out of what i ate and cut them in half!.!.then i would take the calories!.!.so on and so on until i was eating a healty amount!.!.i would also watch tlc like the biggest people alive!.!.it helped motivate me because i never want to get like thatWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sorry I'm not sure what to say about the issue with you and your parents!. I love to eat too though!. My weight fluctuates everyday but I'm at my lowest when I run out of money or have no food in the house!. ( obviously) Ive found that if I'm eating too much, I keep my money in the bank and let my fridge get scarce so i dont have the option too dig in when i'm bored!.

As far as what your mom says, i would ask her to leave you alone about your weight and tell her your trying to get healthy!. My mom gets on my case all the time about stupid stuff too!. Mostly relationships!. Shes lonely too!. Shes been thru 5 marriages and her BF just broke up with her a couple months ago!.

But, I have been forcing her to go out with me when i'm in town!. I have her come to the clubs with me and we have a great time!. Mybe if you get your mom out of the house and doing something fun with you, she wont get so upset when you leave her for a little while with your dad!.

Or start an " out-of-the-house hobby" like the gym!? or some kind of crafty thing that has has little clubs!.!.!. like quilting or pottery!. My mom did that once and she felt really good about herself!.

It might help you with your eating issue too!. If your mind is on something else youre hungry less often!.
