I want to tell my counsler, but on the other hand i dont?!

Question: I want to tell my counsler, but on the other hand i dont!?
I"ve been in cousnling for two years, and for two years all i have been asked is "do you hear or see things!?" and I'd like to tell them that i have, but I'm too afraid of what they might do or say!.

Last week i told her about some symptoms i've had, that i thought were AIWS, but she thinks they are dissociative related!. I didn't get into detail with her about them b/c i was afraid she'd ask more questions!.

I've got two children and I'm married, but i know have some issues to work through, I just dont want to tell them something and they come and lock me up, or take my kids away!. I am perfectly suitable to be a mother, I just have some issues!.

Thanks for any input!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
if it's a simple dissociative disorder they won't lock you up nor take the kids!.
they lock you up if you are seriously thinking of hurting yourself!.
as long as your kids are getting their needs met they won't take the kids, so no worries there!.

dissociative disorders are common!. it can be as simple as spacing out to loosing memory to the less common multiple personality disorder!.

these disorders are caused by some sort of trauma and therapy, emdr, or learning techniques to stay present are some of what is used to deal with it!. sometimes meds for anxiety or depression might be used!.

good luck, take careWww@Answer-Health@Com

You should tell them, but before you do say something like before i tell you this believe me that I AM a good mother and none of it affects that!. and if they want to take your kids away etc!. then they should ask your husband/kids if you are a good wife/mother first!. And when they say yes you are they will know that you ARE suitable to be a mother and that things you hear/see arent affecting that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you know this is a tricky situation!. only if the therapist believes that your children are in danger will they consider taking them from you!. but i do understand you need to trust some one enough to talk about all of your symptoms!. and i think personally if you are in therapy you then do need to talk about every thing!. i would tell them about it so they can start you on medication to help or talk about it with you because talking does prove to help with a lot a mental issuesWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tell Her, She Can Help you, and the questions will help!. maybe its something in your past that's coming back to you, or maybe you did something that your conscience wont let you forget!. you never know what will happen until you try!. and counselors are there to help you, so be open with them!. good luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you want to get better you have to be honest!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
