How do you deal with the sedative effects of medication?!

Question: How do you deal with the sedative effects of medication!?
i took my first anitpsychotic tablet last night and within half an hour was feeling sedated!. i went to bed early (10pm, it usually takes me a few hours to fall asleep) and woke up today about 8am but have been sleeping all day!. right now i feel less tired but still as if i've been up all night!.

i really need to control this as i have to go to college tomorrow (6th form), its really important because i have exams coming up!.

how can i wake myself up or stay awake or is there no way!? do you think the sedative effect will wear off!?

i am almost too tired to think!.

thanks in advance!. xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your body will adjust after a while!. What I do is wake up 2 hours earlier than I need to go out!. I'm still knackered but not as sedated, not the best advice but I have coffee which wakes me up a little!. You probably should tlk to your college about the new medication they should be able to put measures in place to aid you through this difficult time, they may be able to make exams in the afternoon rather than the morning, you'd have to go into college but would stay in isolation until the exam to give you chance to wake up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hope your body will adjust to the Zyprexa!. Maybe you could take it a little earlier in the evening in the hopes it will wear off by the next morning!. Talk to your doctor if you still feel the sedative affects!. Maybe he/she can prescribe something that is not so sedating!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Zyprexa sedated me as well, I drunk coffee with it, that helped!.
However, I was changed from Zyprexa 10mg to Rispiridone 1mg!.!.!. I felt better!.
Which Rispiridone is an antipsychotic too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
