PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER?!

Question: PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER!?
Someone close to me fits 100% with all the symptoms associated with paranoid personality disorder!. However, in addition to all of these symptoms, she also seems to have false memories about her childhood!. I've talked with her mother and siblings (all six of them) and none of them remember the abuse she describes!. Her paranoia seems to stem from this horrible abusive childhood!. As a result, she cannot bring herself to trust anyone!.!.!.even her own children!. I've done some research and she doesn't have hallucinations but she has had violent mood swings!. Any ideas on what this can be!? I already know that with paranoid personality disorder, it's almost impossible to cure it because the individual has to seek psychotherapy but the paranoia prevents them from doing so!. This person has already told me she doesn't trust therapists!. I just want to know what I'm up against here!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is a hard situation to deal with because you are always walking on eggshells with that person!. I have a friend with similar issues and all I can say is if she is a good friend and you wanna be there then just support her by listening and not judging but i would not really accept her lying about things because that's not conducive to a healthy friendship!. But just constantly encourage her and most of all treat her like she is NORMAL!! Eventually some of the behaviors and issues will subside especially if you don't over compensate for her or coddle her when she really needs tough love!. My sister has a similar problem and she swears my step mom used to beat her but my step mom never hit either of us so we kinda just ignore that when she brings it up!.!.!.especially since she insists my step mom played music and did ballet like dance moves as she struck her (lol)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
