Can you go to a family doctor/general practitioner for anxiety disorder/depressi!

Question: Can you go to a family doctor/general practitioner for anxiety disorder/depression!?
For a prescription for Paxil (or similar), can you go to a regular family doctor rather than a psychiatrist/psychologist!? The reasons would be ease, co-pay/insurance, and simplicity!. Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

He/she would be more familiar with thel whole range of medications that are used to treat psych!. problems!. A general practitioner may only be familiar with certain medications!.
