Parent Threatens Suicide...Help!?!
Question: Parent Threatens Suicide!.!.!.Help!!?
What should I do if my mother threatens suicide, and tells me she is depressed!. There have been a couple of time that she has actually attempted it with a gun, but other times she just threatened!. I think she does it more as a manipulation, but there have been a few time that I have had to wrestle her with a gun!. I want to call the cops on her, but if i do when she gets out of a mental hospital she will just make sure she does it right the next time!. Please help, any suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should call the cops!. Each and every time she says that she wants to kill herself you should call the cops!.
If she's just saying to be manipulative she'll learn real fast not to do so, and if she's serious the she needs help, so get her help!.
I don't know where you are, so I can't find out what kind of laws you have!. In NY anyone in danger of hurting themselves or other can be committed by the police to a hospital for 3 days!. I would imagine that most states have similar laws!.

Wow that is a hard question, I would suggest seeing if you can get her to call a crisis line or call it yourself to get some ideas of what you can do to help her!. Call 911 next time she tries to do it and they will have her talk to a psychiatrist in the psych ward and they will put her on depression medication, they will give her the help that she needs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
She just wants attention!. If she really wanted to kill herself, she could do it easily without telling you and making a performance our of it!. Police is stupid, do not call them!. You better talk with your local church comunity, priest!.!.!. call them for help!. Church was dealing mental problems for ages, they have more expirience than police or doctors!. Take your mother to the church or call your priest to visit her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
