Question: Anybody on antidepressants (SSRIs)!?
I have been on Luvox for 12 days, going up by 50 mg every four days!.
It is for OCD, the doc wants me on the max dose, I think I need it too!.
Anyway, no bad side effects until the second day on 150 mg!.
I couldn't achieve an orgasm anymore, although everything else still worked!.
I heard that once you get sexual side effects with a dose of an SSRI - thats it - you have to go down, try something else, or put up with it!.
It isn't like nausea that goes away after you start and stuff like that!.
I didn't even get that, but does this mean it's over!?
I can only tolerate 100 mg and see how I do with that!?
Or can I continue to 300 mg and possibly regain function!?

yeh been on ssri for about 10 yrs!.!.!.efexor!.!.!.xanax for anxiety and solian for paranoia!.!.!.yeh i find it really hard 2 orgasm!.!.!.i can but it takes a long time and alot of effort!.!.!.lol!.!.!.and my boyfriend has the same problem!.!.!.(trouble orgasming)!.!.!.we don't really mind so much!.!.!.i mean its irritating!.!.!.but the depression is MUCH worse!!!!.!.!.there are plenty of other ssri u can try!!!!.!.!.maybe try a different one!.!.!.really u have 2 way up the pros against the cons!.!.!.if u r really sick!.!.!.u may have 2 make sacrifices!!!!.!.!.sorry 2 say!.!.!.!!.!.!.good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey buddy, I've been on paxil now for almost a decade!. I know what you're talking about!. Recently I've been mixing SNRI's with my dosage of paxil!. (Called milnacipran, but I'm in Japan, probably different here!.) SNRI's, from my experience, do what SSRI's do for serotonin, except they block the uptake of norepinephrine!. I think in America you have Effexor, right!? Which is similar!. And there are plenty of other non-SSRI options, like Wellbutrin!. Ask your doc!.
Also, as your body gets used to the dosage, it really will go away!. This is your first experience with an SSRI right!? In my case (I was 21 at the time) I lost libido for about 3 weeks, but it came back with a vengeance!.
The biggest problem (or benefit) was that after drinking even a little, I could not function sexually, still cannot!. Of course you're not supposed to drink on an SSRI, and eliminating drunken hook-ups with nasty girls was probably a good thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
