Do I have a personality disorder or something different?!

Question: Do I have a personality disorder or something different?
Just want your "online diagnosis".

Okay, here goes:

1. I am a guy who is by nature good looking. I attract girls. I love the attention they give me, and for the most part I'm attracted to them. I don't want them around me. I don't want them to talk to me, but I like the attention they give me. At the same time if they stop giving me this attention, I feel REALLY bad, to the point where I depressed.

2. Negative things linger on my mind for a LONG time. When I was 6 years old, this guy hit me for no reason. I didn't like it. It's still affecting me up to this day and I'm 17. At schoo, if someone were to tease me, or call me a name I didn't like. I wouldn't respond out of fear of a backlash, but this name calling would hurt me DEEPLY. This has caused me grades to go DOWN. I really hate it. I have an exam which will determine my life in May, and I'm unable to function properly academically.

3. I can't keep a relationship going because of this emotional instability.

4. I have become VERY empathetic. To the point where I would probably be forced to "forgive" someone who hurt me dearly. It makes me feel like an idiot, but it's true.

5. I might do something which is reckless, especially in regard to money. i spent $1000.00 on several pets. This was to make myself happy. Though it didn't.

6. I have this inability show my anger at people. I get scared of a backlash.

7. I have absolutely no confidence or self esteem.

What do you think I have?

Answers:

It sounds like you are worried about a bunch of things right now and 'm really sorry to hear that! I'm sure people could give you an impression on here, but truly no one can replace the information provided by a doctor. They can you get some support and resources. You could also talk to your family, a school counselor, therapist, or pastor/priest. Just talk to someone that you trust and can get you support and help that you need. If you want to talk, you can also call the Boys Town National Hotline at 1-800-448-3000. You can also email or chat with a Counselor at the website www.YourLifeYourVoice.org. Take care!
