Why do people say you shouldn't hit girls?!

i always get bitched at by other girls my age because i think that you should be able to hit girls to the same degree that you can hit guys. it's not really equality if we're all protected by the law and ****.
that is to say, you shouldn't go around punching ladies, but if she's hella asking for it, and you would hit a guy in the same situation, i think you should be able to go for it. without debilitating her, though. :P

Personally, I don't condone any type of violence towards anyone. Men should not hit women, women should not hit men.

THAT SAID, if a female, say, hits you first, and you find yourself wanting to hit back, you should restrain yourself for the sheer fact that she's-- and I hate to say this as a female-- physically weaker. You're stronger than her, and you should take that into account. Be the bigger person and walk away.

Now, if we're talking about a woman attacking you to the extent that you feel your life is threatened, then by all means, hit her. But only if it's in self-defense, and there truly is no other way. Hit her hard, get the heck out of there, and call the cops.

if you are in danger that is one thing, you have a right to protect yourself if someone is physically threatening you.
if you are just doing it because you are angry or something then its not ok. its like that saying "why dont you pick on someone your own size"
by nature males have more muscle mass than females and sturdier phisique so hitting a girl is wrong because the woman is most likely at a disadvantage.

You should only hit them in self defense, if you felt you had to. But guys shouldn't hit girls because they're generally a stronger gender and it's just not right.

Well, girls can hit you back and scratch or scar you. Don't hit them then.
