Doctor said I might have ADD.?!

Question: Doctor said I might have ADD.?
Well went to the doctor today and she said i have depressetion, and might have ADD (I'm 16 male), the doctor is setting a test up to see if I do and to see a counselor, I have read a lot about ADD and it does kinda seem like I have it
So my question is that is there any way to handle it, cause I feel like talking about stuff doesn't help, if I do have it will they give me something?
Thanks and have a good day.

Hi Dustin.
I am sure you must be very confused right now, just hearing about such a life-changing medical condition. ADD can be controlled with medications. Don't worry, it's a very common thing and it only seems bad now because you are not on medication. They will calm you down. I believe they gave you a counseler so you can adjust to the news. Talking is okay if you have feelings about it. Telling them you're confused may help clear up some of the questions you have. Good Luck.

Psychiatric Medicine

They will prescribe you a medication. Usually Ritalin or Adderall. They make it easier to focus on things.
