2) How do you sterlize a blade?

3) Is it more dangerous if theres rust on the blade?

please anwser in order, thanks.

Answers:

1. Gangrene is a possibility, Your typical infection - pussing, Red streaking, Hotter than your body near the infection, Tetanus if the blade is rusty or your not upto date on your tetanus injection, Secondary infection red, swollen or warm skin surrounding the wound, discharge and pus from the cut or scrape, a red line moving up the limb from the wound and fever.

Gangrene can cause the loss of your limb ANY infection can if they get bad enough, You could need to be put on anti biotics orally or through an IV.

2. You can hold it over a flame for 1 minute, Soak it in antispetic but non of these methods are 100%

3. Yes it is much more dangerous to use a rusty blade if you haven't had your tetanus shot plus the risk of any loose rust getting into the wound and becoming stuck under the skin if you have used a rusty blade watch out for symptoms like - Irritability, muscle cramps, sore muscles, weakness.

I'm not going to tell you to simply stop cutting yourself because it's not just that easy I know but you should consider going to talk to somebody about this, Cutting is so so so dangerous and will leave you with scars not to mention the risk of losing function in your arm if you cut a nerve or bleeding to death if you accidentally cut an artery.

Consider seeing a professional about this recovery is possible - www.twloha.com

Be safe and good luck.

Burried, this is not a direct answer to your question, but you mentioned "self harm" at the start of your question. Please, Burried, don't hurt yourself, but talk to your guidance counselor (if you are still in school) and your doctor as soon as possible. There are treatments out there; you don't have to continue suffering. In the meantime, look up Psalm 34:18 in your Bible - I find it very encouraging. I wish you all the best. Peace to you, Burried.

I would use aclchol swabs to stearlise the blade and a rusty one is Veryb Very bad dont ever use one
