i dont want to choke on my own sick when i am knocked out

Answers:

If you did get appendicitis you would probably welcome surgery to stop the pain and any infection it could cause if just ignored.

It's a small op, you most probably wouldn't need tubes inserted and if you did need them you wouldn't feel it.
Neither would you choke on your own vomit, the anaesthetist would see to that.

Re something going wrong, something MIGHT go wrong if we set foot out of bed in the morning. We could trip on the stairs, slip on soap in the shower, a tree might fall on us.
All as remote as something going wrong with an appendicectomy.

I don't know what started your fear. Mine was that I would bleed to death from scratching a midge bite in my belly button!! Stems from reading about WW1 and bayonet charges.

Try and put it into perspective - or next time you see your doctor talk to him/her.

David, I've had appendicitis and was operated on. I came out just fine. So did my dad. Most stomach pains have nothing to do with appendicitis. If you have a stomach ache for more than a day or two, though, I would call a doctor or go to the hospital. If you ever do need an operation, it's a very common operation and chances are that the surgeon will be very experienced in it. Plus they have several people watching you throughout the entire operation, keeping tabs on everything, so if anything happens, they will take care of it IMMEDIATELY. To sum up, David, I wouldn't worry about it. If you find that worrying too much is bothering you, however, you should probably see your guidance counselor (if you are still in school) and your doctor and tell them that you worry a lot and that it is interfering with your life; they can help you overcome that.

Personal experience.

You are worried about an unknown. It is perfectly normal to worry about things we don't know about. Worry starts because we don't know what to expect, knowing what to expect a person can leave worry behind. You do this by finding something inside you very deep. It is the being that no one sees but you. The little self within can talk us up or down. It is our choice so when you have experienced more in life the up talk will get easier. Just like after having surgery you will not be as afraid of surgery. It is a happening we all have to go through and If your appendix needs to come out your doctor will know. So see your doctor and trust him, he is older and wiser on the subject. He doesn't know all because he isn't you but still respect him for his insight. You will learn more about life as you grow up. If you are not a kid you did an excellent job at writing like one!
