Seek out the help from the school counselor who is on paid staff at the college in which you attend. That person will help you delve into just why you are feeling so low all of the time and how to alleviate it when it does arise in the future.

Don't waste any time in obtaining with help. The longer you wait, the more so the effect on your grades and the more difficult it will be to treat. It could also lengthen the time required to treat it.

Hey.
I feel exactly the same as what you've described. I'm 21, at uni, and have been feeling mildly depressed since the end of high school.
I went to see my doctor and he said I have dysthymia. I can't diagnose you, but it might be the same for you. Dysthymia is basically chronic, low-grade depression, so while it's not as severe as major depression, it goes on for much longer.
You could also see a counsellor at uni, but I found this to be less helpful than the doctor, as the doctor recognised the symptoms and was able to diagnose me.
I would really reccommend talking to someone though, because you don't have to keep feeling like this.
I am now doing cognitive behavioural therapy, which I think is starting to help.
All the best :)

I was in college and didn't deal with my low level of depression. I would say one make sure your eating healthy as nutrients can affect your mood. I know in college its great to sleep in but wake up early and go to the gym and just do some cardio this also helps keeps your energy up. If you feel like these things don't apply to you, I would consider going to a free on-campus counselor or going to the doctor. I was one of those people who refused to take anti-depression medicines at first but now I am taking lexapro and it is really helping. Don't feel weird about depression and don't keep it in you.

Yup bud, I'm exactly the same way. I'm 22 and just graduated. A huge factor for making me feel better has been exercising! Almost every day after work I'll head to the gym and run/bike/lift/beat myself up! for about an hour, and then after I get out, because of all the endorphins, I feel great!! (Runner's High)

Try it out, you will feel 100x better after your done, and you'll feel like you accomplished something. Good luck, your not alone!
