HELP! I am having a 'Teenage crisis'?!

Question: HELP! I am having a 'Teenage crisis'?
Hi,

I am 17, I was brought up poorly, not focusing on school at all up and till now. I have just realized I want to have a career in the future! Here's the problem, I am in Grade 12 I have math applications and Com 11. I am not gifted in Math and could go as far as saying I am ill-talented or stupid...

I was wondering whether if I try my hardest day in and day out, use my brain to it's extent and drown myself in education, Could I hypothetically, One day become a Engineer (or someone of serious intellectual value)? I mean full on, poring my heart and soul into education.

I want to become intelligent and worthy of society, To be a 'Smart' able to write literature and to partake in post-secondary calculus courses and even ace them. Is this a already dream out of my reach?

I do not want frivolous answers and or smart *** remarks.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Also another question, When is the brain fully developed to the point university courses are impossible?

If you work hard, Yes! You could go to trade school right after graduation. It doesn't seem to me that the college setting is right for you. Because you are just beginning to work hard in school you probably won't be able to get your GPA to a respectable number for college (provided that it is lower that a 2.0 right now). Good luck :)

Of course you can! Just get into a college of some sort and work your but off, yes I don't see why you can't major in engineering.
Good for you, it is definately not too late! best of luck!

Wow, you sound really smart to me!!
Yes, If you put everything you have into education, by all means you will excel.

I've heard of elderly people doing courses and doing well ,learning to use computers when they have never even looked at one before if they can you can! May be worth talking to a tutor/teacher and explain what you've said because you do not want to run yourself down working too hard they could maybe help you make a plan of action let you know the main things to work extra hard on and what you do not need so much.Good on you i was useless at maths but somewhere there will be something you are amazing at and it could be engineering or anything you want to do this so really good luck to you and no dream is ever out of reach if you really want it it may take time and hard work but will be worth it.
