I have too much on my mind and I can't sleep?!

Question: I have too much on my mind and I can't sleep?
How do i put my mind to sleep, I have worked out loads today my body is so tired

Answers:

Okay, do as I say, Get a wash cloth and drench it in warm water. Ring it out over the sink so its just right. If you can, turn on music that simulates the sounds of running water and wind. After this you should placethe rag over your forehead and lay in bed... This should help you sleep!! :)

lol, same here; I find it hard to get to sleep too sometimes (takes about half hour to sometimes two hours).
my advice, you could listen to soothing or peaceful music (I use iPod dock and put on sleep mode), try to not move around as much (I guess, when you are in bed, less movement equals calm, which could get you to sleep faster), and most important of all in my opinion, try not to overwork yourself, take breaks.

Also, another fact is that it is harder for one to fall asleep if he or she is hungry, try having something before bed like glass of warm milk. I am not saying having another meal (that could result in increase in fat or weight), but just something that will not make you hungry. Hope this helps and hope you can have easier time when sleeping :)

The doctors all say the best thing to do is follow a set routine each and every night.
1. It should be dark and quiet where you are going to sleep.
2. Do not exercise or eat before trying to sleep.
3. Follow a set of actions, well designed routine, that will trigger your mind to sleep.
4. Reading a book is a great last action once you are in bed......make sure you can easily turn off the light when you feel sleepy and put down the book.

If you follow a routine each night, soon your mind will slowly shut down with each and every step...by the time you finish reading you r mind will be calm and ready to let you sleep. Sometimes i do a mind trip where i have a story that i replay each night in my mind...it is the same story night after night and it really works...by the end I fall right asleep.
It works for me.

If reading doesn't work, try writing out ur thoughts. Even if they don't make sense, getting them on paper will get them out of ur head.

close your eyes relax :P
