Is this karma? Need help please!?!

Question: Is this karma? Need help please!?
Since I moved back to my home state - where incidentally I suffered definite childhood abuse - nothing has gone right, and I mean nothing. One bad thing after another. Is this b/c I was abused here? Is it some kind of karma or low expectation? If you were me, would you move? I know no one can tell me what to do, but literally I can't find a decent place to live, haven't been able to find steady employment, and have suffered some bad trauma just coming back here, including living with my perpetrator. I have the option to move to another state for a month to stay with a friend and look for work. I would miss my church terribly, but at this point, I feel like maybe the state is literally telling me, "no thanks, we don't want you". Any kind thoughts appreciated.

Answers:

It's not karma. Karma is when bad things happen to you because you've done bad things to others. You seem like a nice person who has been unfortunate. I think you should get the heck out of there. Also, seek counseling. I had some childhood issues and it really helps to talk to a knowledgeable person. It's never good to go back to a problem area though.

No matter where you go your troubles are going with you because you carry them around. Get some counseling. Lots of free or nearly free places to go. Try an Al-Anon, or children of alcolics meeting. Most abuse involves alcohol. It's a start. You are feeding yourself lots of negative thoughts. You can and should control them. When you start to go there, redirect. Look out the window, turn on the TV, call a friend, fix the house, mow the lawn, wash the car, anything but constantly rehashing the bad. It's pointless and damaging.

I suffer from concluding that every, little thing that goes wrong is due to karma, too. Even if I just trip or something, I conclude that I deserve it and/or that it was karma. I know it's wrong, but I can't help it.

Sorry you have to go through this. :(
