People think of Bipolar as happy one minute and sad the next but that is very far from the truth.... typically they are depressed for months then will be manic for a few weeks. When manic they would maybe be the life of the party, never sleep, think they can do anything, spend too much money, have unsafe sex with people they should NOT be sleeping with, get into drugs, way way too happy, etc... then they go back to being depressed for another 6 months. Everyone cycles differently.... some may be depressed for 3 years then manic for a week.. other people change every month like clockwork... the defining issue is alternating states of depression and mania.



Usually exaggerated mood swings. They can go from a high that borders on euphoria to a very deep depressive state. It's not fun to be around. ;-(=
