Bad breath paranoias - worried again?!

Question: Bad breath paranoias - worried again?
I went to the dentist for the first time since August. I got my braces on in June, so at my last appt, everything went fine. But after the long time period now, they found something bad. Apparently, my gums are extremely inflamed as a result of not enough effort in brushing my teeth. I am not saying I don't brush my teeth, because I do - twice a day, EVERY DAY. I never skip it. But am I expected to seriously be brushing for 10 minutes? I have never seen it as THAT MUCH of a priority.

Anyways, when they brought this up, I began to worry. And it has stuck with me since I got home. They told me that there was a lot of buildup and stuff in between the gums/braces/teeth. The first thing the dentist told me after this was that the most noticeable result of this is bad breath. Now I know that any normal person would hear that and go "okay, well it looks like it's time to go brush my teeth better!" But not me. I am now obsessing over the fact that I may have bad breath. A few years ago, in my freshman year of high school, I was told that I smelled really badly. At the time, my depression and anxiety were at an all-time high, and I suppose I just didn't do enough to make sure that I stayed fresh. This really screwed with me. What made it worse is that it was a teacher that made me aware of such, and a nicer one at that. Imagine being told by a nice, quiet teacher that you smelled. It messed me up. Since then, I have been paranoid. I practice better hygienic methods now, for sure. But I still am extremely paranoid in public. If a couple of people are whispering next to me about something, or if someone is looking at me, I've always assumed it's because they think I smell. I haven't been told of this since, but who KNOWS! Sometimes I feel like I really do smell. If someone tries to sit next to me or get near me ANYWHERE, I shift at least a couple feet away, or move my chair just to save myself from potential embarrassment. And it really messes with my mental well-being. I feel like how a person smells is the most important part of them now. It has ****** with my confidence in trying to socialize with girls, as a matter of fact.

So now that the breath thing has hit me, I am terrified. I know that I will brush better from now on, but I worry about the past. If my breath has consistently smelled for a while, how do other people see me? I feel like people probably make judgments completely based on body smells. Like if someone wasn't a good smelling person, a peer's first reaction would be "what a disgusting weirdo". Is this true do you think? Please give me some advice.

I brush my teeth for l10 minutes in the morning until my mouth feels completely clean. (other than right when i wake up i brush for about 1 minute.)

About the breath. Change your diet. More fruits and vegetables, less stinky food. Carry around mouthwash, breath spray, mints, or minty gum. Breathe thiguh your nose when possible. Everyone has bad breath. If you still have terrible breath ask your dentist about it.

Hope this helps you like it helped me. Try Oraltech Labs as it worked for me, although I will say it's not just do this and "bam your breath is cured" as they make you change your entire mouth cleaning habits. So you end up doing it all their way. But in the end it becomes a daily routine. It covers Post Nasal Drip and Tonsil Stones as well thankfully. When you have bad breath it messes up your whole life. And I suppose the best thing is they don't make you go out buying "special" products for the rest of your life. So try Oraltech Labs. Just don't get it and then think you'll do what it says “now and then” because it's either all or nothing, and trust me getting rid of my room clearing faecal breath meant I was all in. Nicola, J
