YES!

I have had the desire to commit suicide before (and nearly succeeded) and I have come to find out that it is not the way out of any situation that may exist.

You did not say just what was causing you to have these feelings and how long or serious the urge to commit suicide is right now.

Please call "911" or the "suicide hotline" for help. If you are unable to do this yourself, call a friend or family member and have them call "911".

You do need to get this help. Please do not refuse it.

Thoughts of suicide may be a sign of depression. If you are a Christian, then you should be aware that suffering is par for the course. We Christians must all go through difficult times, difficulties that come in all forms. Difficulties in life refine us, give us character, and develop hope. However, those who are not devoted to Christ, suffer 7 times worse. This Christian hope I speak of, is developed within us through the patient endurance of suffering.

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.
Rom 5:3-5

With all flesh, both man and beast, and upon sinners seven times more, are death and bloodshed and strife and sword, calamities, famine and affliction and plague.
Sir 40:8-9

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that you may do the will of God and receive what is promised. "For yet a little while, and the coming one shall come and shall not tarry; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him." But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and keep their souls.
Heb 10:35-39

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
1Pe 2:21-25

NO, Suicide is a selfish act. Im not sure why you are thinking this but God looks as suicide as selfish and a sin. By commiting suicide you may think its making thinkgs better but it does not do that at all! suicide makes thinkgs worse. People close to you will have to prepare your funeral and if you have children this will be hard on them think about how they will feel 20 years from now when they have no parents in their life. and 40 years from now their children will have no grandparents to pass down memories... This is a bad idea if you need to talk i am here.... this could deffiantely be a sign that thereis a problems that can be treated. My husband often though of suicide and after seeing a therapist found out he ws bipolar. he now is medicated and tells me almost everyday how foolish he was to even think about it!

No, How old are you? Im 14 Ive tried suicide (at least cutting yourself is considered suicide) before and its not the way out. My boyfriend tried it to like 3 times the last time he had 5 minutes and he would have died :( and this happened a year ago, he went to treatment about it. I went to my counselor and she helped me. Im sure you have your reasons to think this way and so Did I but please, whatever you do don't think suicide is the way out. ok? Also if you need help and you live in alberta close to edmonton, Casa is a good place to go for help.

Well, it is the way out if you don't mind never existing/feeling again. Or if you believe in god, being in hell for eternity. Please don't do it!!! Things change and get better, you have to be patient. Seek counseling, there is a possibility you have a mental disorder. Suicide is the lazy way out and is not worth it!

My father commited suicide

Faith, please, please see a doctor as soon as possible. There are many treatments out there for the suffering you are going through; you don't need to suffer like this. In the meantime, turn to Psalm 34:18 in your Bible; I find it very encouraging. I am rooting for you, Faith, I hope you feel better soon. Peace and a hug to you.

Of life? Definitely. Should you do it? Probably. Will you? Probably not. People who tell others that they are planning suicide are not serious about it. If you were serious, you would have just done it, not come on here looking for pity.

No. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
