it sounds like you've built up a defense against being hurt. you've been hurt so many times that it's your coping mechanism. the fact that you're bothered by being "unable to feel" kind of proves that you can feel, it's just you've buried your emotions for so long that the things that normally would have hurt you don't seem to have an effect anymore.

It sounds like you have fatigue from depression. Fatigue can make you feel "emotionally numb".
I advise you see a therapist.

You should read up on punctuation and grammar.

Listen, Amy, can I call you Amy? I know it's not your real name but it helps make it more personal for me. I'm sorry you have had a tough life. But it is because you have had a tough life that you can become stronger.

Let me ask you this, what do you want to be? The problem with young people these days are many. But you have to live for your future, for your dreams. AGAINST EVERYTHING. To fix what you don't like and care for those worth caring for. Amy, remember always be kind. Unlike the jerk that told you to learn proper grammar up there.

What do you want in life? Find out how to get it. Educate yourself, although rude - the fella that told you to learn how to spell has a point. Study hard and prove your worth to yourself. The people you go to school with right now, during & after school they will not contribute to your future life, I guarantee it. They are just passing by, just like you. They won't support you unless they are true friends. None of those people are going to get you through school, buy you a car, get you a diploma, and pay your mortgage or rent. Even then as you continue to grow it is you who will move forward and endure. In this life, no one is going to do things for you.

Live and learn. So you lost your virginity to a loser. Well, make sure that doesn't happen again ;) not that you could lose it twice but, you know what I mean. Don't think of it as such a big deal. Even in bad experiences there is something good worth learning. There are many types of people out there. Your ex boyfriend is an example of the type not worth your time. learn to read people it will help you make decisions in who to talk to and why.

As for your emotional state. You don't feel anything right now because you are still mourning. The crying part is now over but can come again. Your so hurt and damaged that your mind and body need a little break. It is a way to recollect yourself - to mend in a way. It may be your inner self telling you that you don't need to cry anymore, telling you to stop crying - like your father said "move forward". A "time out" you can call it. It is normal until you decide what happens next.

Amy, with your future always in mind find meaning in life - become your own master. You feel the weight of everything you have lived - BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE KNOWN. This is not your fault. You can't blame or become angry at someone who doesn't know what they can't know. There is too much beauty you have yet to witness in life.

Visualize the person you want to become - and at that moment become that person. Live for your dream. If you fall get back up. If you lose faith renew your faith but this time become stronger. Take pride in yourself and with that respect, smile :1

WAIT! I'm such a DORK =P - your name is actually posted... SORRY Lilly!!!

God can help you. Sounds like you need to know God, your spiritual Father, then pray about your life. He can help you live a better life. As God is love, life is primarily about love and relationships in order to have a rich and full life. Also, you need to know God's Son, Jesus Christ, in your life as your Lord and Savior as Jesus died on the cross as payment for our sins. Having Him with you will give you God's blessing and forgiveness, as you live God's way. We need to know and follow God in this life so we can go to heaven after we die, and so we can get God's help now. Not following God leads to hell, eternal suffering. Instead, there is an important prayer to pray to become a born again Christian. This prayer should be said with faith in God and a sincere heart:
"Dear God, I know that I am a sinful person and I don't want to be like this anymore. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross as payment for our sins, and I want to accept Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever so I can receive God's forgiveness, guidance, and go to heaven after I die. Thank you, dear God, for your mercy and guidance; in Jesus' name. Amen."
After saying this prayer, you should check out a Christian church like Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran.
Also, get into their youth Sunday school group or Bible study group so you can learn more about God, Jesus, and God's will for your life. The Bible is God's instruction book about how to live a God-honoring life so you can go to heaven after you die. The church can also get you baptized and prayed for. You can pray for yourself daily too. Maybe you could find a Christian friend who could take you to church with them. God guide your life.

Based on discoveries made through neural mapping of the limbic system, the neurobiological explanation of human emotion is that emotion is a pleasant or unpleasant mental state organized in the limbic system of the mammalian brain. If distinguished from reactive responses of reptiles, emotions would then be mammalian elaborations of general vertebrate arousal patterns, in which neurochemicals (for example, dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin) step-up or step-down the brain's activity level, as visible in body movements, gestures, and postures.
For example, the emotion of love is proposed to be the expression of paleocircuits of the mammalian brain (specifically, modules of the cingulate gyrus) which facilitate the care, feeding, and grooming of offspring. Paleocircuits are neural platforms for bodily expression configured before the advent of cortical circuits for speech. They consist of pre-configured pathways or networks of nerve cells in the forebrain, brain stem and spinal cord.
The motor centers of reptiles react to sensory cues of vision, sound, touch, chemical, gravity, and motion with pre-set body movements and programmed postures. With the arrival of night-active mammals, smell replaced vision as the dominant sense, and a different way of responding arose from the olfactory sense, which is proposed to have developed into mammalian emotion and emotional memory. The mammalian brain invested heavily in olfaction to succeed at night as reptiles slept—one explanation for why olfactory lobes in mammalian brains are proportionally larger than in the reptiles. These odor pathways gradually formed the neural blueprint for what was later to become our limbic brain.
Emotions are thought to be related to certain activities in brain areas that direct our attention, motivate our behavior, and determine the significance of what is going on around us. Pioneering work by Broca (1878), Papez (1937), and MacLean (1952) suggested that emotion is related to a group of structures in the center of the brain called the limbic system, which includes the hypothalamus, cingulate cortex, hippocampi, and other structures. More recent research has shown that some of these limbic structures are not as directly related to emotion as others are, while some non-limbic structures have been found to be of greater emotional relevance.
