I read somewhere that 80% of the things we worry about never happen! So, take a deep breath and exhale slow-ly.

1. Then make list of all the things you are currently worrying about.

2. Next, take each one and ask yourself what facts you have that prove this thing will happen. Usually, we have none, just the fear of it happening. Fear, they say, is false evidence appearing real!

3. Now, if there are no facts to say a thing will happen, there's no point imagining that it will. Because such imagination is hurting you! Instead, practice imagining the opposite. This new kind of imagination will help you because our thoughts become our reality!

4. Any time your mind starts playing the "negative imagination video," press Pause, eject the video and go through the motions of throwing it in the trash, saying, "You aren't good enough for me because you are not the truth!

5. Then sit quietly and play your "positive imagination video," saying, "This is possible for me."

6. It will take a while to totally trash the negative thinking and establish positive, possibility thinking, but the sooner you get started the sooner you will succeed. I know because I'm a life coach turned business coach and this is how I help my clients.

Now, for the things you worry about, that you do have evidence that they could happen (you may want to take a friend or relative on board to support you with this):

1. Make a seperate list of these.

2. Taking them one by one, tick the things you can change and circle the ones you can't.

3. For the ones you can change, ask yourself: What help do I need here? Who can support me? Where can I get information? Take steps to get this help. One step at a time we can make a difference to our lives and others'. All you need is one litle step each day. And know that that one little step is gradually turning things around, even if we can't see the effects right away.

4. For the things we can't change, what help can we get to handle the situation positively? As in (3) above, there is help, and little steps that can make this situation less daunting and manageable.

5. Know that no one has a perfect life! We all have things we can change and those we can't. The people who are happiest are those who take steps to change what they can, and learn to handle what they can't change.

I hope this is helpful to you. I came from a worrying family, but we have all now unlearned the worry habit and have taken on "possibility thinking." And I can tell you, it's better to think of possibilities because it's great when they come true!

I am Christian and from what the bible tells me, i am told not to worry.
I know God is with me and i trust Him to help me through all the hard things in life.

Think back about when you were in high school, did worrying help you have a better life or worse?
Worrying makes for a stressed out person that is not happy with their life, there is no plus side to worrying.

Just listen to some of your favourite music (feel good music), be more social and hang out with friends will help for a good time, read the bible, or get a massage or do something to treat yourself to put you in a good mood.

Try a cup (or 2 cups) of passion flower tea and anxiety will vanish.
