Our brains never sleep and that is what causes dreaming. The rest of the body needs to rest but the brain is still doing its job. When you are sleeping your subconscious is aware. When you are awake you are conscious and aware.Dreams are an attempt for the subconscious to communicate with your conscious mind, so its kind of like a message sometimes. Other times it is just meaningless brain activity-almost like the brain is bored because we are sleeping.

People sleep because they need to rest their brain. It's like leaving a computer on for a whole week, it gets overheated, never mind a whole lifetime.

Also, while you are sleeping, your gall bladder, liver, appendix and other immune system organs turn on and start clearing your body of mucus, bacteria and other un-needed substances in your body.
Food gets in the way, however, and that's why it is best not to eat before you go to sleep.

Another reason, your muscles relax and get some rest, and so does your body. One good natural way to gain strength.

Also, while you are sleeping, your brain throws out emotions and works with other more essential data within your brain. Bad dreams are the cause of bad emotions being, or, attempted to be, thrown out while you were asleep.

While you're asleep, you're more in your astral body rather than conscious. So sleeping is also a good way to practice clairvoyance for all clairvoyant people.
