Answers:

As Rebecca says, most bipolar people do not have many mood swings a day. They may switch up and down every day, but mostly they change weekly, monthly. There is a period of time some bipolar people may have which is called rapid cycling. This can cause very irratic and quick (maybe a swing up from a down morning, or an up morning, and down evening, but not typically several times a day).

If you persistently experience mood swings, and your child is, as well, it could be caused by something else. Bipolar disorder does not get diagnosed until adolescence/young adulthood, as not many children (and certainly not 2 year olds) as many children exhibit the symptoms. Two year olds are trying to be more independent and can quickly get angry if they are not granted their independence, or they are trying to do something they physically or mentally cannot. So that is normal. Your mood swings, however, could be something like Borderline Personality Disorder-but that has 15 other criterion and one (the only one which kept me from being diagnosed as such) of them is lack of conscious, or purposely being malicious towards others and not caring. Since I didn't have this one of 16 criterion, I was told I did NOT have this problem.

Bipolar

Only a psychiatrist can diagnose you but Bipolar disorder has very distinct periods of depression and mania. Typically these moods last for weeks or months and the average person with Bipolar only cycles 2 or 3 times a year. Rapidly shifting moods are not Bipolar but maybe due to lack of sleep, stress, hormones, or a personality disorder like Borderline.

you need go to a doctor and he will initially use a criteria for the condition to
to match your symptoms against the criteria to determine a diagnossis of bi polar there is
