Are suicide prevention lines 100% confidential?!

Question: Are suicide prevention lines 100% confidential?
If you DO NOT tell them your address, name, or #, then would they manage to trace your call? What if you had a cell-phone? Would they still reach you?

No, they are not confidential.

I've called 1-800-SUICIDE from home, and I never told them my age or where I lived. I gave them no information. I was never placed on hold, and while I was still on the phone with them, the police and ambulance showed up at my house.

So another time, I decide to call from my cell phone.. And I wasn't home.. So I went out and called from elsewhere.. Well I call and end the conversation half an hour later, and I get home a few hours later.. and my house is surrounded by police cars and an ambulance. The hotline had called 911 on me, and with my cell number, they were able to find my name out, and than track down my adress.. The police had arrived at my house hours earlier, and they officially reported me missing because they said I was a danger to myself, put out alerts on me, and everything. It was a nightmare.. And this happened very recently

Yes, they are confidential. I urge you to use the lines whenever you feel the need. I have called many times and no one has ever contacted me or tried to call me back. Their mission is to provide some solace when you need it.

My experience

try their email it's safer and they do not need your address through the email.
