I don't want to sound all depressed or anything, but I could use some cheer!

Question: I don't want to sound all depressed or anything, but I could use some cheering up?
So i'm just a teenager, and I guess there's a lot of teenagers who are depressed and stuff, but just hear me out. Sometimes I wonder what's the point of... anything really? Unless I become some fake barbie doll and start wearing the cool clothes, I can't be liked by every one. And I guess I don't want to bel iked by everyone, when there's all of these fake b****** and such, who tease people because of the way they look or who they are. What is this world coming to if you are teased because of your induviduality? We're not robots, why should we conform if we want to be respected or liked? And then there's labels. Nerd. Geek. Just because of grades? Come on. Do these people even realize they're hurting the people they label? Emo. Goth. The list goes on and on. Why do people do this? It hurts. But they don't realize it. All they care about is perfect hair and perfect looks. But when will people see? THere is no perfect in this world. Everyone has a different idea of perfect.

Omg I'm so with you. My life sucks I have 2 rllyclose friends and they sometimes make me feel like sh*t..... Anyway just think tomoro will be a better day, time is an illusion, everything will go by quick

I totally agree with yuuu!! Everyone is like all brainwashed and crap itz super annoying!! Very few ppl see reality how it really is. Btw ur frickn awesome >.<

Just drown yourself in knowledge, then you will be free.

good on you for thinking like that i know it is difficult everyone feels pressure to be like everyone else but as you get older people do accept individuality much more easily and im sure some of these people who have all the right clothes i bet they aren't all happy no matter what they say.Someone who chooses there own way to look, to do can also choose how there own life runs how miserable if you can only do things because other people are.Hang on in there be yourself you know who you are they probably do not.In the end you know you are 'real' would you relly want to be lie these bullies because hats all they are and if you get good grades true friends a good job because you went your own way it's going to be them that end up with nothing who will have he last laugh then! keep your head up nothing to be ashamed of i bet you people do respect you for being you they are just too scared to say it and do there own thing.

I HATE it when people call others nerds just for getting A's. I mean, seriously? Some people just naturally retain information. Some people like their labels, but I don't really have one. Everyone feels like that sometimes. Just say something nice to someone that doesn't have as many friends as you; you feel good after. And i hate that the slightest things make you uncool,
-oh you don't wear skinny jeans, wow that's lame
-How do you not know who this person is?
-wow you don't flirt with any guy in sight?

It just pisses me off how flirty bimbos get all the guys and all the popularity!
You're not alone lol. I'm so glad someone feels the same way

You will learn a lot in the years to come. One of the most important lessons though, one that can only be learned through experience and time, is that all you need to do is be likeable to yourself. Annoying people as well as friends will come and go, but you will be with yourself 'til the day you die.

When you get out of high school and start the next chapter, you'll see that we're all going through the same awkward situations (figuratively speaking) and thinking you're an outcast is one of the rare things we all have in common. The thought crosses everybody's mind at one point or another. Everybody has a place where they feel like they don't belong - on the other side, though, we all have a place where we DO belong. I'm sure you have these. These places or activities or people or whatever they may be are what's gonna help you find what you need to know. High school is a difficult time and you are all just beginning to get acquainted with yourselves.

Also, you can't let people who make fun of others get to you - nine times out of ten they're trying to make up for their own flaws. At this point, you've already got the last laugh because everybody has flaws and you don't wanna be friends with those people anyway. Only yourself and the close people you tell are the only people who truly know your flaws or problems. You decide this. Not them. They mean nothing.

As far as your grades, KEEP IT UP! In the end, believe me, you'll be the successful one and 99% of them will be trying to turn their life around and become an adult when it's already too late, say 26 or 30 or maybe never. You'll have the job and respect. Be who you are and don't ever change if you like you. Don't ever forget you're unique; just like everyone else.

"Everyone should smile, because we have so much. We are alive, we? have music, we have love (though sometimes it is hard to believe in it) and we have laughter. Go look up a joke. Go smile in the mirror. Sing at the top of your lungs. Dance at a random time in public. Swing on the swingset today. Smile, because you're ALIVE!"

Back in the ancient days were I come from, It was exactly the same.
You described my life in school word for word.
They do know they are hurting you, thats why they do it, they think
it makes them look kool in front of their friends.
They dont realize it makes them look as stupid as their friends.

Dont dress like them to be accepted by them, It dont work.

I was a geek in school, I had a geek friend.
I started making fun of my geek friend and dressing like the
kool kids so I would be accepted.

They didnt accept me, They made fun of me and beat me up even
more than before, I lost my friendship with my geek friend.

Whaty did I gain for my miss guided efforts? Not A Damnd Thing.
I had less after than I had before.

Be who you are.
Dont wory about them.
They dont matter.
20 years from now, you will be a success and they will be wealfare bums.
