Is cutting really that big of a deal?!

Question: Is cutting really that big of a deal?
I mean really. I've been doing it for 5 years and I don't think it's that big a deal. I mean sure the cuts/scars LOOK bad but they don't hurt that much and aren't that deep. I only cut deep enough to bleed. Actually seeing the blood is what helps me relax. Plus it's a proven fact that the endorphins released from cutting help relieve stress. Some people jog to relieve stress. I cut. What's so bad.

Answers:

No, you are wrong. Endorphins released from cutting relieve the stress you put on your body while you physically harm it. Same thing when you break a bone. You don't feel the break right away because your body is using endorphins to mask the pain so you can still function.

You know what also releases endorphins? Physically smiling. Studies show that your brain will check the expression on your face to help decide your emotion. By having a smile on your face your brain will think you're happy and will release endorphins to match that.

Also, cutting is not about the release of endorphins. The vast majority of cutters cut so they feel like they have some control in their life. It is a sign of intense depression.

So in conclusion, cutting really is that bad and you should learn to smile.

Stop It!!! Jogging is much better! Don't be a weirdo. You'll either turn out full blown crazy later in life or regretting and questing your past cutting experience.

Or smile, or masturbate! No More cutting!

If you cut too deep or in the wrong area, you can bleed to death. That's the main concern.

Exercise is a healthy way to reduce stress.
Mutilating your body is not.

Someone that I know slipped and cut themselves too deep. They cut a major artery and almost died.

No, unless it messes with your ability to function day-to-day.

Yes ur ******* emoooo
