Your grammar/spelling/explanation is completely inadequate but I'm feeling generous so I'll just try and work with what I've got...

If this person cannot fall asleep at night but can fall asleep at other times, like early morning or afternoon, they probably have a Circadian Rhythm disorder, a disorder which affects our bodies "natural clocks" and ability to release melatonin to induce sleep when it is an appropriate time to do so.

A more likely explanation though, is just poor sleep hygiene. This person should avoid eating 2 hours before bedtime as food causes your bodies metabolism to do extra work and this can keep you awake. Also, alcohol has been proven to interrupt sleep when consumed immediately before bed. Exercise is good for sleep hygiene but never immediately before bed; this person should try to exercise several hours before their desired bedtime.

Other things to avoid:
-Computer/TV before bed (lights can stimulate the brain)
-Certain medications that cause alertness. If this person is on meds make sure he knows the common side effects. Many medications affect sleep.
-Doing things other than sleeping in bed. This is a huge one. If you're on a laptop or even reading a book in bed, your mind does not learn to automatically associate bed with sleep, so it makes falling asleep that much more difficult.

I could write a novel about sleep hygiene but I honestly don't even know if you'll take any of this advice, so I won't waste my breath. If you've gotten this far into reading my answer and still want to know more, just google sleep hygiene.

Good luck.

First of all, eating or drinking anything other that water at after 7pm is one problem. In order for your body to rest it has to get through the first few stages of digestion. It also depends on you "waking up" habits. If you go to sleep late and wake up late, your body gets into a habit. Try waking up at the same time each morning, no matter if you are still tired or not. Your body will soon correct itself.

Also, try taking a natural sleep aid. When I cannot sleep I take Melatonin 300 MCG.You can get it over-the-counter at your local walmart, walgreens, or any drug store. It is a non-addictive sleep aid that simply helps you falls asleep.

Hope this helps. Sweet dreams :)

I have trouble sleeping as well.

He may have a legitimate medical problem that keeps him from being able to sleep. Maybe he's suffering from the mania phase of bipolar disorder. Maybe he has a circadian rhythm problem. It could be a number of things. (Could be his drinking.)

But what I've found is that I never feel tired at bedtime. I'm always tempted to stay up and watch more TV or do some more work on my computer. But if I go ahead and go to bed, I'm usually asleep in just a few minutes. I feel better the next day than on those nights when I waited until I was tired to go to bed, even if I adjust my wake-up time accordingly.

I think that if you wait until you're tired, then you're really overtired by then. You have to go to bed before you're tired.

It should be more like "Runs 2 miles, smokes a joint and listens to Pink Floyd" bet he wont make it through "Welcome To The Machine" ;] - Peace N Pot
