I am having these weird things happen?!

Question: I am having these weird things happen?
I seem to have a lot of "black outs" is what i call them, when i get up, and i feel really light headed and my head starts feeling tight, and I see nothing but black. After 10-30 secs it goes away. I feel like I am on a rocking boat a lot and i get the shakes if i didn't eat after a wail?

P.s i am only 14 turning 15, is this normal?

I KNOW THIS PERSONALLY.

If it's like this--- you stand up and you can see but then all of a sudden the world starts to black out and you get dizzy and cant stand straight. you try to hold still and after a few seconds or a minute everything starts to fade back in. There are several things that may be causing this.

#1. low b12 or low iron. Easy fix, start taking a daily multivitamin.
#2. blood pressure. get it checked. if it's low, add some salt and a multivitimin.
#3. the one I suspect is low blood sugar. It can drop if you dont eat something small every three hours. this can be a small 4 oz of orange juice, a sugar cube, or some candy but eat something small every couple of hours. you can get all of these checked at the doctor or you can check everything yourself except the b12 and iron. if you go to the red cross, they may check your iron for free.

Get a glucose meter. go to freestylesupport.com and apply for a free meter and 10 strips. you may have to lie and make up that youre diabetic and using insulin on the form but they will send a free meter. I got 3 of them to my house! I bet its your sugar though. It may also be that you're young and if youre female, your periods can deplete you of nutrients. same as iron and sugar ^ so check those out and in the mean time, multivitamin and food are the safest bet. =) mine was a combination of all of those things, low b12, low iron, low blood pressure, and low sugar or hypoglycemia but multiple health problems like mine arent that commen. Eat ya some food every 3 hours. should feel better. Also, sometimes when you lay down, your bp drops because your heart doesnt work so hard to pump blood. then you stand up and your brain doesnt get all the blood it was when you were laying down so your vision blacks out until your heart can get enough blood pumped up to your head again in standing position. if its problematic, lower yourself to the floor and stare at one spot until your vision is back then stand slowly. its not life threatening but if none of this helps, see a doctor. =)

This is pretty normal, it's called Orthostatic hypotension. You didn't get them when you where little because you where little, there was less distance for the blood to go. Now you are 14 you have grown so you will have started experiencing it. My friend gets them so badly that he sometimes falls over.

If you get them really badly then you should get your blood pressure checked, otherwise your fine.

Here is a link that has more information on why this happens, and how to make it less severe/stop happening.

I get it too.

totally normal. that's just all of the blood rushing to your head when you stand up
