I'd say it's not unusual, but it's not exactly 'normal'. Prozac can be taken by children who are over 8.
My friend is also 14 and he was prescribed prozac for his depression.

The good book says..Child 8-18 10mg per day once daily can be increased after 1-2 weeks to 20mg, discontinue if no improvement within 9 weeks.Side effects should be listed with your prescription.
