How long does the sleeping difficulties stop with citroplam?!


Question: How long does the sleeping difficulties stop with citroplam?
I started 10mg 5weeks ago, had trembling and bad side effects for week, did notice minor difference, alot calmer not so angry and actually starting to cry when i feel sad, which is a massive improvement, then 2weeks ago upped my dosage to 20mg - but now not getting much sleep at all? went to see GP - she said to start taken them in the morning? to see if i can sleep during the night?

any advice??? be much appreciated - others suggest take earlier on before bed such as 5-6pm instead of 9pm!

The effects of antidepressants can vary considerably from one individual to another.
Citalopram can cause alertness is some people and drowsiness in others.
"More than 15% of patients develop insomnia while taking citalopram"
It would be far better to do wha you doctor says and take your tablet in the morning than early evening.

Getting the best from an antidepressant depends on the "doctor-patient alliance". That means keep going back to your doctor and feeding back your experience so that the doctor can tune your medication to your need!
